Biography and Career :
She studied at the Monsignor Edward Pace High School, Immaculate Conception in Hialeah, Florida and the Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. In 1983 she moved to
New York City and then decided to go to
Los Angeles.
After three years she got a role in "About Last Night..." and so, her acting career was starting. Since then she was seen in movies like "Survival Quest", "Seinfeld", "Johnny Suede", "Living in Oblivion",
"Walking and Talking", "Being John Malkovich", "Lovely and Amazing", "Full Frontal", "S1m0ne", "Death to Smoochy", "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and "Friends with Money".
She was nominated three times at the Independent Spirit Award and two times nominated at Oscars. She won a Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy or Musical for "Being John Malkovich" in 2000 and a Chlotrudis Awards for Best Supporting Actress with the same movie.
In 1997 she was elected member of the dramatic jury at the Sundance Film Festival. On November 17, 1990 she married Dermot Mulroney and they have one child, Clyde.
