Carole Demas is best known for her critically acclaimed creation of the female lead, "Sandy", in the original Broadway blockbuster musical Grease. A Broadway and TV Star, concert and cabaret singer, radio and recording artist, Carole has played a wide range of dramatic and comic roles throughout her musical and multi-faceted career. She is loved and remembered by generations of fans country wide as co-star, with her lifelong friend, Paula Janis, of The Magic Garden, the most successful regional show in the history of children’s television. V shows, recurring roles on popular soap operas, and her singing for the Champlain and NY Shakespeare Festivals, Carole has stolen the hearts of audiences and critics alike. She originated the title role in the Los Angeles production of Stephen Schwartz’s The Baker’s Wife and played the role of "Luisa", The Girl, in Off-Broadway’s longest running show, The Fantasticks, at New York’s Sullivan Street Playhouse for two years. She starred in the PBS Special, Showstoppers -The Best of Broadway and night owls can see her as a guest star in shows such as Kojak, Mannix, Barnaby Jones and others.
She is a veteran of over 200 TV commercials as well as jingles and voice-overs for radio. The winding path of Carole’s career, which has been highlighted in Schirmer, Citadel and Applause Books chronicling the trials and triumphs of Broadway, has taken her from her early days as Miss Vermont in The Miss Universe Pageant, to major roles in theatres from coast to coast, including the Las Vegas run of her zany "Singing Chicken" voice in the Lido Show at the Stardust Hotel. Her cabaret and concert performances have brought funds and attention to many worthy causes. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Carole lives in Westchester County, NY with her husband, Stuart Allyn, 2 dogs, 2 cats and "Tomsonturtle", her turtle friend for 46 years (and counting).
