Carol Kirkwood was born in Morar, Invernessshire, Scotland and her family name was back then, Mackellaig.
Carol had 7 brothers and sisters and her parents ran a hotel in their home town.

Also, she won that award in 2008 and 2009 but she says the one in 2003 is the most important for her, because it was the first award and it was the first time Weather was included in the TRIC awards(Television and Radio Industry`s Club Awards).
