Bud Spencer (his real name is Carlo Pedersoli) was born in Italy, on 31 October 1929. He had an amazing career as an actor, filmmaker, and before that, he has a great swimmer. He also got his degree in law and he even registered several patents.
When he was 31, he married Maria Amato and together, they had 3 children: Giuseppe, Christine and Diamante. In 1967 he took the name Bud Spencer, some say, from his favorite beer, Budweiser, and to pay homage to Spencer Tracy.
Before that, Spencer was the first swimmer in the history of Italy to swim the 100 m freestyle in less than one minute. He also participated in the 1952 Olympic Games in Finland, and in 1956, in Australia but he stopped in the semifinals both times. He also played water polo and he won the Italian Championship in 1954
with S.S. Lazio.
He started his acting career in the early 1950`s but his career really turned big in the late 1960`s when he met Terence Hill and they made together a lot of Italian Westerns and other films, such as: Ace High, Boot Hill, Blackie the Pirate, All the Way, Boys, Two Missionaries, Crime Busters, Odds and Evens, Go for It!, Miami Supercops and Troublemakers. Also, Spencer appeared alone in some movies, like: The Five Man Army, The Sheriff and the Satellite Kid, Everything Happens to me and Banana Joe.
After he ended his career, Spencer became a jet airplane and helicopter pilot and in 2005 he entered politics but he did not have success.
