Brad became famous after appearing on the "ABC Afterschool Specials" show in the episode The Kid Who Wouldn't Quit: The Brad Silverman Story (1987) written and directed by Joanna Lee. The program was based on a true story about a teenager suffering from Down's Syndrome who starts attending college classes. This show won an award in 1988,the Humanitas Prize award for Children's Live-Action Category.
It was also nominated for Young Artist Awards.
