Bogdan Stelea was born on September 5, 1967 in Bucharest,Romania. He is one of the members of "Golden Generation" of Romanian national football team.

Biography and Career :

Bogdan Stelea started playing football at Dinamo Bucharest in 1988 as a substitute goalkeeper and after 2 years became the first goalkeeper in his team, played in 37 games.

In 1992 after he won the champion title with Dinamo he was transferred to RCD Mallorca for $650.000. After 2 seasons in Spain he went in Belgium to Standard Liege but played only in 3 games so he came back in Romania to Rapid Bucharest for a year.

After one season in Turkey to Samsunspor he returned one more time in Romania to the champion team Steaua Bucharest and won 2 titles with them and participated for 2 times in UEFA Champio ns League.

In 1997 Bogdan Stelea was transferred to Salamanca in Spain and stayed there 7 seasons between 1997-2002 and 2002-2004 with a new come back in Romania to Rapid in 2002.

After some games for Dinamo and Akratikos he signed in 2005 for Otelul Galati but didn't play any match because of an bad injury.

Bogdan Stelea played 91 games for Romanian national football team played starting in 1988 against Israel and the last against Slovakia in 2005.

He participated with Romania to World Cup from Italy in 1990, USA in 1994 and France in 1998 and to European Championship in England 1996 and Belgium & Holland in 2000.

Trivia :

- In 2005 Bogdan Stelea retired from football career.
- He was married and has one boy.
- After he divorced he had some relationships with singer Lili Sandu and a tv star Cosmina Pasarin.
