The band comprised of lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, Bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward. Black Sabbath is a heavy blues-rock band with occult- and horror-inspired lyrics. Black Sabbath released their debut album also called Black Sabbath on Friday the 13th of February 1970 in the United Kingdom. The album is often hailed as one of the first heavy metal albums.
