Billy Hughes William Morris Hughes (1864-1952) was an Australian politician, prime minister (1915-1923); originally Labor, he headed a national cabinet. After resigning as prime minister in 1923, he held many other cabinet posts (1934-1941).

Born in London, he emigrated to Australia 1884. He represented Australia in the peace conference after World War I at Versailles.
