Billy Bob Thornton was born on August 4, 1955, in Hot Springs, Arkansas ,USA. He is an Academy Award-winning American screenwriter, actor, as well as occasional director, playwright and singer.
Biography and Career :
He spend his childhood in Alpine. His family was poor, living in a home without electricity. He didn't have many friends while he was child. One of them was Tom Epperson, the one to become his partner for sprits, later. After graduating high school, Thornton got a job and got married. He got divorced after two years, returning to college in order to keep on studying psychology.
His debut as an actor was in "Hunter's Blood" (1987). After obtaining parts in "Zombie town", "Evening Shade", "One False Move" and "Dead Man" (1995), he wrote the script for "A Family
Thing" in 1996, together with Epperson. He became known as an important script-writer and actor in Hollywood after the success of "Sling Blade" in 1996. He starred in films like: "The Apostle" , "U-Turn" (1997). After that he got important parts in "Primary Colors" and "Armageddon". In 1998 he got an Oscar with "A Simple Plan". He wrote directed and starred in "Daddy and Them" and then he got nominated to Golden Globe for "The Man Who Wasn't There" .
His private life was very mediated by media, especially for his marriage to Angelina Jolie, marriage that ended in May, 2003.
