Bill Withers was born on July 4, 1938 in Slab Fork, West Virginia, United States. He is a famous singer and song writer. Bill was the youngest of nine children, who grew up in Beckly, West Virginia and at the age of thirteen his father died. He started his career in 1967 after being discharged from the Navy in 1965.
Bill's debut album, "Just As I Am " was released by Clarence Avant of Sussex Records in 1970. He has sung many songs like, "Ain't No Sunshine", "Grandma's Hands" and "Friend of Mine". His famous albums include, "Still Bill", "Making Music", "Lovely Day: The Very Best of Bill Withers " and "Live at Carnegie Hall".
