Biba Caggiano is a famous cook.She was born and raised in Bologna Italy.In 1960 she moved to New York, the hometown of her American-born husband, Vincent. There Biba found a job at a major Italian bank, Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, where she stayed until the arrival of her first child.
In 1969, the family moved to Sacramento, California, and where Biba was asked to teach a series of cooking classes at a newly opened cooking school in Sacramento. The classes were a huge success and Biba found herself with a brand new "career."
Biba Caggiano is the author of Northern Italian Cooking, Modern Italian Cooking, and Leo Buscaglia's Love Cookbook with Biba Caggiano, From Biba's Italian Kitchen, and Italy al Dente.

Biba is famous for her restaurant Biba
which has been voted Sacramento's best restaurant. In 1986, Biba opened BIBA Restaurant. Since then, the restaurant has garnered high praise with Gourmet Magazine, Travel and Leisure, Conde' Nast Travelers and the Wine Spectator. Named as Best Restaurant in Sacramento, by Sacramento Bee Food and Wine Editor Mike Dunne and voted "Best of the Best" by Sacramento Magazine readers for the past several years. BIBA is also a DIRONA Award recipient.
Biba has published eight best-selling cookbooks,including her latest latest which has been labeled as Food & Wines "Best of the Best", the best recipes from the 25 best cookbooks of the year. Biba has also hosted one hundred episodes of her internationally syndicated cooking show Biba's Italian Kitchen, on the TLC and Discovery Channel.
