Beverly Donofrio is an writer. Beverly lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where she is a founder of San Miguel Workshops. Her first children's book was released in 2007 by Random House.
Beverly studied at Wesleyan University, then went on to receive an MFA in creative writing from Columbia University. Her work has appeared in The Village Voice and New York magazine. She is also the author of Looking for Mary.

Beverly is the acclaimed author of two memoirs: Riding in Cars with Boys: Confessions of a Bad Girl Who Makes Good and Looking for Mary (or, the Blessed Mother and Me). Her first memoir, Riding in Cars with Boys, was made into a movie in 2001 starring Drew Barrymore.
Her second memoir, Looking for Mary, or the Blessed Mother and Me,
is about the Virgin Mary, faith and her own life as a mother.
