Benjamin McKenzie was born on 12 September 1978 in Austin, Texas, USA.
After his graduation from the University of Virginia he moved to New York to pursue his passion for acting. He wanted to act because both his grandparents did some acting when they were young and he wanted to follow in their footsteps.
While he was in New York he appeared in various Broadway plays.
Before moving to Los Angeles where he landed a lead role in "The O.C.", the one who made him an international actor.
In 2007 he got a role in Jon Avnet's movie "88 Minutes" along with Al Pacino.
After "The O.C." he got the main role in "Johnny Got His Gun" and a role in NBC series "Southland".
In 2009 Ben playes in "The Eight Percent" and "Forever"
