Beastie Boys is a boy band formed of Michael "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "MCA" Yauch, Michael Schwartz and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz.
Biography and Career :
Michael Diamond or "Mike D" was born on November 20, 1965. Adam Yauch or "MCA" was born on August 5, 1964. Adam Horovitz or "King Ad-Rock" was born on October 31, 1966. Michael Schwartz or Mix Master Mike was born on April 4, 1970. They all are from New York. The boys founded the group in 1979 and their name was "The Young Aborigines". Adam Yauch was the one who changed the name in 1981 when he entered the band. They are a hip hop musical group.
After seven years they released the first album called "Licensed to III" which was a successful one. The band had a great success not only in the United States, but also on the othe
r continents. Their albums where sold in millions of copies and the boys collaborated with Doctor Dre, DJ Hurricane or Rick Rubin. The singles they released entered the charts quickly and they are recognized as inventing "rockrap", a new music genre.
In VH1's 50 Greatest Hip Hop Artists they were placed on the 11th position. The boys are popular and their music is listened everywhere. They were nominated during the years at many awards and won some of them. The band has many fans and they are eager to listen to their new album and singles.
