Ayumi Hamasaki was born on October 2, 1978 in Fukuoka, Japan. She is a successful singer and actress.

Biography and Career :

She started her modeling career at seven years old. She spent her life with her mother and grandmother, without her father. At the beginning she played in low budget dramas and b-movies.

She started her singing career in 1994 and one year later she released her first album called "Nothing from Nothing". She came back in 1999 after a break with the albums "A Song for XX" and "Loveppears".

As an actress she was seen in "Battle spirits ryûko no ken", "Nagisa no Shindobaddo", "Miseinen" or "TalkAsia". She is alse a spokesmodel for AUBE cosmetics, HONDA, KOSE cosmetics, Lycos Japan, MORIGANA, Takano Yuri Beauty Clinic, TU-KA handsets.

Until now (2007 ) she is the only Japan singer who had 4 singles on the Japan top 10 charts simultaneously. In 2002, she was the winner of MTV Asia's Best Female Artist Award. 17.4 million Copies of her albums were sold and she became the feminine artist in Japan with the most units of singles sold.

She has won many awards and her work and talent were recognized. Her beauty and intelligence helped her in developing her career. She is not only a singer, she also writes her own songs and is a producer.
