Biography and Career:
Audrey Hepburn was born on 4th May 1929 in Ixelles, Belgium. She was a British actress and humanitarian.
Audrey Hepburn was the daughter of Joseph Victor Anthony Ruston, an English banker, and Ella van Heemstra (1900-1984), a Dutch aristocrat. She learnt ballet in Arnhem and then shifted to London in 1948. After she shifted to London she continued to learn ballet and she also worked as a photographer's model. When she was a kid she went to school on England. She studied at Miss Rigden's School, an independent girls' school in the village of Elham, Kent, south east England from 1935 to 1938.
She shifted to Amsterdam in 1945. When in Amsterdam she learnt ballet from Sonia Gaskell. She playe
d the role of a stewardess in a tourism movie for KLM. Her acting career started in 1948 in the educational movie Dutch in Seven Lessons. She has also played in musical theatre productions like High Button Shoes and Sauce Piquante.
Her debut movie was in the British movie One Wild Oat. In this movie she played the role of a hotel receptionist. She played small roles in many movies like Young Wives' Tale, Laughter in Paradise, The Lavender Hill Mob, and Monte Carlo Baby.
When she was acting in the movie Monte Carlo Baby she was selected to play the main role in the theatre play Gigi in the Fulton Theatre. In 1952 she acted in the Thorold Dickinson film Secret People. In 1953 she acted in the movie Roman Holiday.
After acting in Roman Holiday she acted in Billy Wilder's Sabrina with Humphrey Bogart and William Holden. She later started acting in plays from 1954. In 1979 she went back to the film industry and she the played the role of Elizabeth Roffe in Bloodline directed by Terence Young. The other cast of the movie were Ben Gazzara, James Mason and Romy Schneider.
