Ashlee Simpson met Pete Wenz in summer 2006 and they probably saw each other for the first time in Pete Wenz's bar; however, they managed to escape the eye of the media quite well.
The couple succeeded to escape the spotlight since the media only managed to get pictures with them at celebrity events.
The marriage took place in Los Angeles on Saturday 17 May. The young couple took their vows in Ashlee's parents house during a very small ceremony with only 150 people who were close friends or family.
It was the couple's first time to get married so they wanted it to be really special. Simpson, who is 23 years old, wore an amazing ivory lace dress made by Monique Lhuillier and Pete managed to get his dog, a bulldog, to carry the wedding ring. Ashlee's sister, Jessica Simpson was the maid of honor and other celebrity guests included Nicole Ritchie and Joel Madden, her husband.
Jessica's Simpson's boyfriend was also present, the American football player Tony Romo among many celebrities. They wanted this to be really unique so they had a themed marriage party and the theme was "Alice in Wonderland"� - or shall we say "Ashlee in Wonderland" with all the story's elements. The exquisite cake had it all: a tea pot, a top hat, like the one the Mad Hatter wore in the story, a pot of flowers and a stop watch.
Their fiery relationship was somehow hidden at first although they met back in August 2006. It seems that the two first met in Pete's bar.

A strange thing happened in 2008 when the couple decided to get engaged after being in the shadows for so much time. There were already rumors about Ashlee being pregnant in the media and this only made them seem more real.

Not as a big surprise, they announced Ashlee's pregnancy a short time after their wedding, confirming all the rumors. Their son was born on 20 November 2008 but unfortunately for him, his parents, wanting to be cool, managed to give him a very strange name, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, which might actually have a big influence on his self esteem when he grows up.
