Arlene Malinowski is an actor/playwright who views her solo work as an extension of the social justice issues she has been committed to for the last 25 years. Her 5 solo shows have been produced and performed in venues nationwide.
Biography and Career:
Her work has been honored with an LA Theatre Ovations nomination, LA Weekly Award, Garland Award and named on of the 5 Best Solo Shows in Chicago by Windy City. As an actor she has appeared in Love Person at VG Biograph, "The Music of the Spheres" at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. "Lovers and Other Strangers", "Chapter Two", "The Crucible", "Marty,"One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" with Deaf West, and the critically acclaimed "In A Different Voice".
Arlene is also a writer/performer with the nationally touring, multicult
ural show "A Slice of Rice, Frijoles & Greens" Her TV work includes CSI, ER, The Practice, The X Files, Any Day Now, The Division, Diagnosis Murder and the CBS movie, Sweet Nothing in My Ear. She is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists and a Playwright in residence at the 16th Street Theatre.
She is currently turning "What Does The Sun Sound Like" into a memoir and Aiming For Sainthood will be produced late fall 2010.
