He entered the music industry during the early 1990's. He was the first bachatero to get in touch with a normal audience with his hit "Voy pa'lli¡", after Blas Duri¡n had launched the electric guitar into the field.
His soft romantic lyrics is what is accepted that the bawdy style. He then became the leading artist who introduced bachata into the field. He is the highest paid bachatero in the Dominican Republic.
He conducted a concert at the Puerto Rico's Roberto Clemente Coliseum on May 12, 2007.
