Anna Chakvetadze was born on March 5, 1987 in Moscow, Russia. She is a young and promising tennis player.

Biography and Career :

Her mother was the person who introduced her to the tennis world and at the age of eight she was already training.

* She started playing in the ITF circuit in 2001 and her debut as junior was at Minsk, where, unfortunately she lost in the first round.

* Next year she won her first junior title at Istanbul and in 2003 she was one of the finalists at Wimbledon. She also won the International Bavarian Junior Challenge.

* 2003 is the year when she turned to a professional tennis player.

* The next year she was placed on the 41st position in Top 100 and she appeared at her first Grand Slam tournament.

* In 2006 she mana ged to win her first title and it was happening in Guangzhou, China. In the same year she won at Moscow in Russia and in 2007 she won at Hobart and Hertogenbosch. At Wimbledon she lost in the third round in 2006 and at US Open in the fourth round in the same year.

Until now (2007) she didn't win any Grand Slam titles, but she is still young and has a great career ahead. She is now placed on the 7th position of the Top 100, the best of her career.
