Ann Jillian (Ann Jura Nauseda) was born on Monday, January 29, 1951 in Cambridge. She is a three-time EMMY nominee and Golden Globe award winning actress, singer, and inspirational speaker. She's also a humanitarian and breast cancer survivor.
Biography and Career:
She has been involved in show business throughout most of her life starring in motion pictures, television, nightclubs and on Broadway. She began her career at the age of 10 after winning the role of Little Bo Peep in Walt Disney's film classic "Babes in Toyland". One year later she played Dainty June in the film musical "Gypsy", with Natalie Wood, Rosalind Russell and Karl Malden. Ann made her Broadway debut in the hit musical "Sugar Babies" with Mickey Rooney in 1979. She starred in TV's "It's a Living" as Cassie
Cranston and on NBC "Jennifer Slept Here" as well as "The Ann Jillian Series". She appeared in numerous television films including "Mae West" in 1982 for which she earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and "Ellis Island" in 1984, earning another Emmy nomination.
Ann faced the biggest challenge of her life when she was diagnosed at age 35 with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. Through the support of family and friends, she recovered and went on to portray herself in the NBC television film "The Ann Jillian Story", winning the "Best Actress", Golden Globe Award in 1988 as well as two Emmy nominations for her starring role. The movie provided her with an opportunity to spread her positive message about the hopeful side of breast cancer to millions of viewers. Ann gives all praise and thanks to Jesus Christ for saving her life.
As a singer, Ann has performed on the worlds concert stages and in the Symphony Pops arena with the L.A. Pops, Atlanta, Delaware, Ohio, San Diego, & Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestras and in numerous USO Christmas shows with Bob Hope.
In 1990, Good Housekeeping Magazine voted Ann one of the most admired women in the world. She is a dedicated and devoted humanitarian who supports many charities.
