
Ann Curry was born on November 19, 1956 in Guam. She is a television personality and journalist.
Biography and Career :
Her father is of American origins and her mother Japanese. They have four children besides her. She spent her childhood in Oregon and attended the Ashland High School and the University of Oregon, School of Journalism. In 1978 she became an intern at NBC-affiliate KTVL in Medford, Oregon and then the station's first female news reporter. After three years she went to Los Angeles to work as a reporter for KCBS-TV and between 1884 and 1990 she won two Emmy Awards.
In 1990 she was the NBC Chicago correspondent and between 1991 and 1996 the anchor of NBC News at Sunrise. She married Brian Ross, who is a software executive, and the couple has two children, Walk
er and McKenzie. In 2005 she became co-host of Dateline NBC and after two years became host because her partner left. Now (2007) she makes international reports from Baghdad, Sri Lanka, Rwanda, Albania, and Darfur and hosts NBC's primetime coverage and highlights of the Live Earth concerts.
She likes to help people and was a volunteer for organizations like Multiple Myeloma, Research Foundation, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Americares, Save the Children, Doctors Without Borders or Airline Ambassadors.
