Andrew Bonar Law (1858-1923) was a British Conservative politician, born in New Brunswick, Canada.
Short Biography:
He made a fortune in Scotland as a banker and iron-merchant, and entered Parliament in 1900. Elected leader of the opposition in 1911, he became colonial secretary in Asquith's coalition government (1915-1916).
Chancellor of the Exchequer (1916-1919), and Lord Privy Seat (1919-1921) in Lloyd George's coalition. He formed a Conservative Cabinet (1922), but resigned on health grounds.
