Andrea Bargnani was born on October 26, 1985 in Rome, Italy. He is a basketball player.
Biography and Career :
His career began in 2002 at Stella Azzura Roma in Italy's Serie B2 division. Between 2003 and 2006 he was the player of Benetton Treviso. In his first season there he posted averages of 4.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 10 games. In the Euroleague he recorded 2.4 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. The next season was a good one for him but in 2005 he was ill and because of a micro fracture he also missed the 2005 European Under-20s. In his last season along Benetton he recorded 12 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 1.2 steals over 47 games.
He was chosen the Top European Young Player of the Year. After he went to Toronto Raptors he won $7.78 million for two seasons
. He participated at the Raptors' Las Vegas Summer League team and so the Italian Basketball Federation announced that Bargnani would not play for Italy at the FIBA World Championship in Japan.
He is a great and talented player and is the second player without experience on a U.S. college or high school team to be selected first overall in the NBA Draft. His stature helps him a lot but his concentration and desire to be the best helps him stay in top.
