Anastacia (full name Anastacia Lyn Newkirk) was born on September 17, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is a great and famous American singer.

Biography and Career :

Her parents are Diane Hurley and Robert Newkirk and they are artists too. Her mother is an actress and her father an actor. She attended the Professional Children's School of Manhattan. At first she was a dancer on "Club MTV" but later she became one of the most famous singers in the world. She is a beautiful woman but had to deal with lot of health problems. In 2003 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, fought with it and won the battle. Since she was thirteen she had Crohn disease and had to suffer a surgery because the disease affected a segment of her small intestine and it had to be removed.

On April 21, 2007 she married Wayne Newton, who was her bodyguard. She had a long term relationship with Shawn Woods, which ended in 2001. Her talent as a singer was recognized after she received many awards, including an MTV Europe Music Award for the category "Best Pop" in 2001, a World Music Award for "Best New Artist" in 2001 and two ECHO Awards for "Best International Newcomer" in 2001 and "Best International Female Singer" in 2005.

In 2002 she participated at the VH1 Divas Las Vegas show along Shakira, Celine Dion and Cher. Between 2000 and 2007 she released five albums: Not That Kind, Freak of Nature, Anastacia, Pieces of a Dream, TBA - Anastacias 4th Studio Album and many singles and all of them reached the highest positions of the tops. Her fans are in Europe, Asia, South Africa, United States and Oceania and she has traveled all over the world to sing for them.
