Anais (birth name Anais Martinez) was born on June 22, 1984 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is a young and talented singer.

Biography and Career :

In 1994 her parents decide that Dominican Republic was so poor that they couldn't offer their daughter the necessary conditions to develop her career. They moved to the United States in New York and the girls started learning English and later she took modeling and singing lessons. She attended The Door academy in New York where practiced dance and Juanita Williams, a gospel and jazz singer helped her to become a good singer. During that time she went to karaoke in order to practice what she was learning and to achieve experience.

In 2005 she won the final of the second season of Objetivo Fama, which is a Puerto Rican v ersion of American Idol on the Univision network. The contest had a higher rating than the first season and people were charmed by her. She signed a contract with Univision Records and started recording.

A minor scandal was about to start because of some nude photos of her but she explained that it was a long time ago and she needed money so she had done those photos. People understood and soon she released the single "Atrapada". She released two albums, one in 2006 "Asi Soy Yo" and one in 2007 "Con Todo Mi Corazon" and they bothe had a great success and entered in the Billboard Hot 100 and many other charts.
