Biography and Career :
She attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School in Marylebone and the Brit School as well as Katie Melua did. Her parents were a taxi driver and a pharmacist, but her family was familiar to music a long time ago, especially with jazz. At around sixteen years old she was singing very well and signed a contract with Island/Universal. Her first album "Frank" was released in 2003. It turned out to be a great success and achieved platinum sales and some nominations for awards.
In 2004 she received a nomination at the Mercury Music Award and one year early for two categories at the Brit Awards. On May 18, 2007 she married
Blake Fielder-Civil. In 2007 she was the winner of the category "Best British Female" at the Brit Award. A new album "Back to Black" was released in 2006 and it was a huge success too. She became a popular artist and has fans in the entire world. Her voice is special and she has conquered the hearts of millions people. She had concerts worldwide, performed at different events or festivals and is considered a great singer.
