Amy Poehler is a famous american actress as well as well known comedian. She was born on September 16, 1971 in Newton, Massachusetts, United States. She was daughter of high school teacher, Eileen and William Poehler. In 2003, she married to Will Arnett of Fox Comedy "Arrested Development" and has two kids now.
Career:
During graduation, she joined a collegiate group "My Mothers Fleabag". She graduated from Boston College in 1993. She moved to Chicago after graduation, where she studied at Improv Olympics and Second Study. During her studies she met Matt Besser. In 1996, along with Matt Besser, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh, Amy joined a group "Upright Citizens Brigade".
After moving to New York in 1998, the group immediately became a Comedy Central Show which was a half hour
sketch comedy series. The show went on for three seasons. In 2001, Amy became very popular in the world from the show "Saturday Night Live" where she joined as cast member. After joining SNL, Amy immediately got promoted and became a featured performer. She was the second person to earn field promotion in mid season. She co-anchored "Weekend Update" with Tina Frey in 2004-05 seasons by replacing Jimmy Fallon. Till September 2008, she continued to work with SNL. After that she took a break from SNL to give birth to her first baby. She returned to SNL in November 2008 for hosting "SNL Presidential Bash ‘08". In 2008, Amy was nominated for Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series.
Amy Poehler has worked in a file with her husband Will Arnett (GOB) in "Arrested Development". In this film she has performed the role of GOB’s "accidental wife". She has been working for films throughout her tenure. To name few - The Pick of Destiny, Blades of Glory, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, Envy, Deuce Bigalow, Mean Girls, Wet Hot American Summers are the films in which she has worked.
