Amisha Patel was born on June 9, 1976 in Mumbai and she is an Indian actress who works in Bollywood movies. Amisha Patel is an alumna of the Cathedral and John Connon School where she was head girl for the academic year 1992-1993.
Biography and Career :
Amisha Patel is the daughter of Amit Patel and Asha Patel, sister of Ashmit Patel and the granddaughter of the famous Indian lawyer Rajni Patel. Amisha Patel received a degree in Economics from Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts, US. She also studied classical Indian Bharatnatyam dance.
Her name Amisha was derived from the first three letters of her father's name Amit and the last three letters of her mother's name Asha. Her brother Ashmit's name was also derived similarly first three letters of his mother's name Asha
and the last three letters of his father's name Amit.
Amisha Patel believe what is in destiny no one can take away from you. Amisha Patel replaced Priyanka Chopra in Humraaz. In her debut film 'KNPH' she replaced Kareena.
Amisha Patel has the best collection of bags and belts in tinselville. Whenever she goes abroad she shops for expensive accessories. Her collection includes from Louis Vuitton, Salvotore Feragamo, Christian Dior, Gucci and Versace.
Amisha Patel's forth coming films are Vikram Bhatt's Elaan in which she is playing a journalist. Then The Rising for which she is very thrilled to work with Aamir Khan. She is playing an innocent bengali girl, Jwala who gone through a devastating time before a Britisher comes into her life.
Amisha Patel caught the eye of Bollywood director Rakesh Roshan at a Mumbai party. He signed her to appear with his son, Hrithik Roshan, in his next film project.
Amisha Patel made her debut in the hit film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000). The film made her a star overnight. Amisha Patel appeared next in the surprise success, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. These two successes were followed by a series of films that did badly at the box-office. Critics said that she was a mediocre actress. However, she received good reviews for her work in Aamir Khan's recent hit film, The Rising (2005).
