She sings R&B, jazz and soul music. Besides being a singer she writes songs, is a record producer and knows to play the keyboards. Her mother was a dance professor and critic and her name is Brenda Dixon Gottschild. She grew up in an artistic environment and her music has R&B, soul, jazz, folk, hip-hop, and gospel with flashes of Middle Eastern, West African, and Indian ethnic styles influences.
She is married to Laru Larrieux and the couple has two children, Sanji Rei and Sky, two beautiful girls. Her first album, "Groove Theory" was released in 1995. Since then she released another four albums: Infinite Possibilities in 2000, Bravebird in
2004, Morning in 2006 and Lovely Standards in 2007. She had success with her albums and she has fans in the entire world. Her music is listed by all kind of people and she is definitely a great artist. Some of her most successful singles were "Tell Me", "Keep Tryin'", "Baby Luv", "Get Up", "Sweet Misery" and "For Real".
The Vibe magazine was talking about her and saying that with a talent like hers everything is possible. Critics appreciate her and there's no doubt she is a true artist. She had a role in the television series, "New York Undercover" in one episode and her voice was used to animate one of the characters in "Matatkara", an online animated series.
