Amanda Loncar was born and brought up in Arcata, Humboldt County, California. She is the daughter of a surgeon and nurse. She did her high schooling at Sacramento, Sacramento County, California. When she was 18 years old she shifted to New York and studied at The New Actors Workshop with George Morrison, Mike Nichols and Paul Sills for two years, in the same class with Michael Cassidy.
