Allan Ramsay (1686-1758) became a wig-maker and then a bookseller in Edinburgh. Short Biography:
He published The Tea-Table Miscellany 1724-1737, and The Evergreen in 1724, collections of ancient and modern Scottish song including revivals of the work of such poets as Dunbar and Henryson.
