
Alison Krauss was born on July 23, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois, USA. She is a singer and fiddle player.
Biography and Career :
When she was five years old she started taking violin lessons but these were changed with bluegrass. After three years she began participating at contests and in 1981 she had her own band. Since 1983 she has won the Texas State Fiddle Championship, the Walnut Valley Festival Fiddle Championship and was the Most Promising Fiddler in the Midwest. She first sang on her brother’s album, Different Strokes.
In 1989 she and her band, Union Station, released the album Two Highways. The next year she had a solo album, called I've Got That Old Feeling and she started entering Billboard chart and won her first Grammy award. In 1992 the band released the second a
lbum, Everytime You Say Goodbye and after one year she was part of the Grand Ole Opry. She and the band continued singing, releasing albums and having a huge success all around the world.
She is talented and does a great job. She has even started appearing in some movies and producing soundtracks. On November 8, 1997 she married Pat Bergeson, but in August 2001 the couple divorced. They have one child, Sam, who was born in July 1999. During the years she has won twenty Grammy awards. She sings bluegrass, country and gospel music and everyone appreciate her for her skills.
