She attended the Cecilia High School and the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and got a degree in Mass Communications. During the college she was a sister member of Kappa Delta Sorority.
In 1990 she became Miss Louisiana Teen USA and went at the Miss Teen USA where came up on the 7th place. After six years she won the Miss Louisiana USA title and when she participated at the Miss USA pageant she finally won the title. Her career really started at that moment and she soon appeared in many magazines.
She became spokeswoman for the Doritos chips brand and was seen very often in television commercials. In 1998 s
he became one of the persons on the list of People's magazine most beautiful people in the world. After four years she got a job as host of the Spy TV television show. Between 2003 and 2006 she appeared in the sitcom "Eve". She was so popular than she was invited at many famous television shows.
On April 24, 2004 she married Mario Lopez, but their marriage was over in May the same year. After two years, on April 8, 2006, she chose as her husband Alejandro Gomez Monteverde and they have a happy marriage.
