Denisof was born in Salisbury, Maryland on 25 February 1966. When he was three years old, he moved to Seattle, Washington. After the graduated the St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire, he moved in England where he lived and worked for five years. This period in England had an amazing contribution in developing his English accent which eventually made him so popular in the television series "Angel". During his
period in England, he dated Caroline Aherne.
Denisof decided to return in California to begin working in U.S. In 1991, he was a fight director for a stage production of Hamlet and for the BBC production, Romeo and Juliet. The real opportunity for him came when he was introduced for the first time in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in season three as a replacement Watcher. Later, he appeared in episode 10 on season one of "Angel". Fast he became a main character here and he played in 100 episodes out of 110.
Denisof was among 200 actors considered for the role of James Bond for Casino Royale, but lost out to Daniel Craig.
