Biography and Career:
Alex Turner attended Stocksbridge high school along with Andy and Matthew Helders. Oasis band was the main influence for him to start learning guitar .he had always been the main songwriter and his observations of inner city England have drawn comparisons to the Streets front man Mike Skinner. Although he enjoyed songwriting he shied away from acknowledgement. From the time he got his guitar he spent most of his spare time in penning new lyrics. He used to always think of something and write something else but the best stuff used to come when he got a melody and a rhythm so he built each line from there and paid every attention to every aspect. ash hit album in 2006 shortly after getting their first record deal.
In August 2007, they announced a project to record an album with Miles Kane and James Fond, of the Artic Monkeys. This project had Turner, and Kane sharing the vocals, guitar and the bass with Ford playing the drums. They called themselves The Last Shadow Puppets the album was known as the Age Understatement and it was released in April 2008. Then on 19th August 2008, the did a small tour backed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Turner worked with Dizzee Rascal for the song "Temptations. In October 2008 he made his debut as a short story writer, the choice of three .He had maintained a very low profile and avoided the media. In December he was adjudged as the Coolest Man on the Planet. He was a person who spoke very little.
He was having an affair with television presenter Alexa Chung ever since July 2007, and they moved to East London. In 2010 he donated his white Stratocaster for auction to help Haiti after the disaster that year.
