Known for revolutionizing the concepts of space and time, by creating the Theory of Relativity, Einstein was born at Ulm, Germany. Einstein disliked the rigid education and grading system in Germany and hence moved to Switzerland. He completed his graduation from Swiss National Polytechnic Institute in Zurich and worked as a 3rd grade examiner at Swiss Patent Office in Berne.
Einstein married a Serbian girl, Mileva Martsch, his classmate at his college. During his job he worked a lot on his scientific investigations and published 3 papers which changed the world’s views on space, time, mass, motion and gravitation. He got divorced from his first wife and married Elsa and had 2 daughters. Not only science influenced him but he also was deeply religious though he did not follow any religi
on in particular.
Einstein’s contribution to physics is so vast that he is considered as a big revolutionist of the century as he changed entire view in which science was perceived and the modern physics started being referred to as the Einstenien Physics. He produced 3 papers that changed everything in physics to an extent that a new branch of physics emerged based on these papers.
His first paper was on photo electricity titled, "On a New Determination of Molecular Dimensions". The 2nd paper, "On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies" in which contained the "Special Theory of Relativity", in this paper he explains how the measurements of space-time are affected by relative motion between observer and the observed. The 3rd paper was on The Brownian Motion (zigzag movement) of tiny particles suspended in third medium e.g. the pollen grains in water.
Einstein received the Nobel Prize in 1921 for the explanation of photoelectric effect, after which he got elected as the Fellow of Royal society, London and got the Copley Medal of Royal society in 1925 and Gold Medal of Royal Astronomical Society in 1926. He was offered a permanent position at Princeton University in USA which he took it because of Hitler’s rule in Germany and being a Jew he did not return back.
Einstein died of illness on 18th April 1955 in Princeton in a hospital. Mortal remains of Einstein were cremated without following any religious rites and his ashes were scattered at an undisclosed place. Time magazine recently honoured him as "The Man of the Century" for his contribution to the Mankind and the Society.
