The "Alannah Myles" I know does not "deserve" to be famous... she can't help BUT be! There is no other singer quite like her on this Godforsaken planet with idols and icons taking precedence over all musical else.
Born in Toronto Christmas day (Dec. 25th), thus making her a capricorn, not a sag, though there is no true account of her actual birthdate beyond internet reports as Myles has never divulged her age.
Rumored to have dated Led Zep's, Robert Plant in the early nineties on and off for 3-5 years; mostly off. There is no communication between them Myles reportedly claims, briefly dating a handful of men since and never married after an 8 year live-in relationship with Christopher Ward, songwriter of her classic, Grammy winning hit, Black Velvet.
Alleged to have dated U2 producer and solo artist, Daniel Lanois prior to dating Ward preventing their musical liaise.
1995 linked Myles with IRS record company owner and Police/Sting manager, Miles Copeland responsible for releasing Myles from her "unsigned" contract with Atlantic Records from whom she did not "receive a single royalty until April fools 2008".
2002 saw a court settlement and an apology for defamation of character posted in Canada's National Post after a 2 year litigation fundng her latest cd.
