A versatile male lead in over 60 plays and films, his roles include "Zorba the Greek" in 1965; "Far from the Madding Crowd" in 1967; "Women in Love" in 1970; "The Go-Between" in 1971; "The Shout" in 1978 and "Duet for One" in 1986.
