Mohammad Ahmed Ben Bella was born on December 25, 1918 in Maghnia, Algeria and he was a famous President of Algeria. He was well known as he was the first President of Algeria and seen by many as the Father of the Algerian nation. Ben Bella also worked for the French Army as a volunteer in 1936. In 1963, he was elected as the President in an uncontested election and also led Algeria's defense against Moroccan invasion during the Sand war.
