Adema is a five-piece rock band originating from Bakersfield, California. Adema consists of lead singer Mark Chavez, guitarists Tim Fluckey and Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls.
Career:
The band had a few problems after their first two albums. Mike Ransom left the band in 2003 followed by Chavez later in 2004 due to conflicts between themselves and other members of the band. Luke Caraccioli replaced Chavez in early 2005 for the album “Planets”, but then left a few months later in late 2005. In 2006, Adema announced that vocalist Bobby Reeves and guitarist Ed Farris, both from the band LEVEL, had joined the band. This lineup was short lived as well and only released one album called “Kill the Headlights”. Recently however, the original line up was reunit
ed on August 13, 2009 with Bobby Reeves and Ed Faris agreeing to leave the band. The original band plans on releasing new material in 2011. The members of this band have separated and then decided to reform their original lineup. It would be interesting to listen to their new material in 2011.
The band’s debut album “Adema” was released in August 2001 and achieved moderate success. The two main singles in the album was aired on rock radio stations. These two singles are"Giving In" and "The Way You Like It". The lyricist of the album was Chavez, and the album was produced by Bill Appleberry and Tobi Miller. It was certified Gold, and the band received a spot on the main stage during the Ozzfest tour. They kept playing live with the Music as a Weapon, SnoCore Rock, and Projekt Revolution tours.
The original members of Adema played their first show together in over 5 years on January 14, 2010, at “Whisky A Go Go” in West Hollywood, California. The band played another show the next day at “Brick by Brick” in San Diego, California.
A full 2010 tour list across the United States has also been posted on the band's Myspace and Facebook page and new material was announced to be released around February 2011. The 2010 tour did not feature original member Mike Ransom, as he has joined the band Black Heart Vacancy.
