Adam Wade Gontier was born on May 21, 1978 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. He is the lead singer of Three Days Grace.
In his childhood his mother made him listening to all various of music and he became a music addicted. He is playing guitar since he was 6.
When Three Days Grace were looking for a lead singer he posted an announcement on their website saying "My mother is a musician, so she's really the one who introduced me to the experience of performing live. She got me singing with jam bands in bars when I was 12 years old. The Seattle music scene really inspired me and my songwriting".
They were impressed by his post and called him for an audition.
In 2005 he got an addiction for OxyContin and he went to rebad in Toronto at CAMH.
There he wrote a lot of song such as "Pain", "Animal I Have Become", "Over and Over" and "Gone Forever" , very famous songs.
In 2007 he said that he is still sober and addicted to drugs after her wrothe the song "Behind The Pain".
He wrote songs for onther artists like Chris Daughtry and Apocalyptica's song "I Don't Care".
He is now on tour with his band promoting their new album "Life Starts Now".
