Ace Young (birth name Brett Asa Young) was born on November 15, 1980 in Denver, Colorado, USA. He is an American R&B singer and actor.

Biography and Career :

He became famous after he appeared at the American Idol competition and ended on the seventh place. Spending his childhood in the same neighborhood wtih Jessica Biel and Samantha Cohen was already the beginning of a successful career. His parents are Jay Young and Kay Whitney and besides Ace they have another four children: Josh, Duff, Marc and Ryan. They saw their son's talent and took him to singing lessons and since the age of nine he started singing at the local shopping malls and recreation centers. He attended the Fairview High School and graduated in 1999.

He started singing at the national anthem at Denver Nugg ets games and his career took off. At the American Idol contest he won the seventh place and he became famous. This may be the main advantage after his participation there. After the show he was a guest on Total Request Live and in 2006 was among the People Magazine's "Hottest Bachelors" list. He likes helping people and in 1999 he became a volunteer in the Children's Hospital of Denver. His girlfriend is Essence Atkins, who is an actress.
