Aaron Douglas was an African American Painter, who was born on the 26th May, 1898. He was a Topeka native. He completed his graduation from the Topeka High School, in 1917. In 1922, He received his bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 1925, Douglas shifted to New York and started working with the magazines called, "The Crisis", and, "Opportunity". He was very much attached to arts and in 1937, he decided to teach Arts at the Fisk University. He was very much likened by everyone there and was requested to stay there for long. As a result he taught there for 29 years. But, sadly, on February 3, 1979, when he was 80 years old, died.
