Biography and Career :

She spent her childhood in Florida with her father, who was a physician and was born in Canada, and her mother who is from Mexico.

She attended the Bishop Kenny High School and after she finished her studies there she continued at University of Florida, section International Relations and Asian Studies.

At the beginning she wanted to be a model but she couldn't because she was fat, but managed to lose 60 pounds.

After she participated in 'America's Next Top Model Contest' in 2004 and won it she signed a contract with IMG Models Agency as a prize. Also as a prize she won a cover of cosmetics catalog Sephora, and a photo spread in Jane.

Her debut as a model was in 2004 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and she modeled for fashion designer Petro Zillia.
