William Charles Wentworth (1790-1872) is the son of D'Arcy Wentworth (c. 1762-1827), surgeon of the penal settlement at Norfolk Island. In 1855 he was in Britain to steer the New South Wales constitution through Parliament, and campaigned for Australian federalism and self-government.
