Vania King was born on February 3, 1989 in Monterey Park, California, U.S. She is a young professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
Her parents are of Taiwanese origins. In 1982 they decided to move to the United States and this way their daughter was born in America. She started playing tennis when she was a child and in 2006 she turned a professional tennis player.
Even if her career started one year before she has already won one WTA title and is situated in Top 100. On November 6, 2006 she was ranked on the 50th position of Top 100, which is the highest position for her in this top.
Until now (2007) she has won one WTA single tournament, three WTA doubles tournaments and one ITF doubles tournament. At the Open in Bangkok, Thailand in October 2006 she won the
WTA title. It was on hard and her opponent in the final was Tamarine Tanasugarn. The match ended with the score 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
The three WTA doubles titles were conquered at Tokyo and Bangkok in 2006 and at Fes in 2007. The first two were played along Jelena Kostanic Tosic on hard and the third along Sania Mirza on clay. She hasn't played yet at the Australian Open.
At the other three Grand Slam tournaments she ahs the next performances: she played into the first round at Roland Garros in 2006 but didn't pass into the net round and she has reached the second round at Wimbledon in 2006 and at the US Open in 2005 and 2006. She has earned approximately three thousand hundred dollars and it's even more than other players have earned in many years of career.
