Sarah Polley was born on January 8, 1979 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is a Canadian actress, singer, Genie Award-winning film director and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter.

Biography and Career :

She started her career in 1985 with TV serial "Night Heat". Sarah acted in a lot many other serials such as : "Friday the 13th", "Ramona" and "Road to Avonlea".
She was nominated for Oscar for Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published for "Away from Her" in 2006.
Sarah also won the BSFC award for the Best Supporting Actress for "The Sweet Hereafter" in 1997.
She has also directed many movies such as : "Away from Her", "Don't Think Twice" and "I Shout Love".

Why is she famous?

Sarah is famous for winning Genie Awards in 2004, for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in "My Life Without Me".
