Regina King was born on January 15, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. Even though her parents separated, Regina actively pursued her ambition to become an actress.

In 1985, she appeared for the first time on television in the series “227”. After her work in this series, Regina started acting in movies. Her first movie “Scrooged” in which she played a small role. Later on, she got more prominent roles in the movies “Boyz n the Hood” and “Poetic Justice”. Following this, Regina appeared in the comedy “Friday” which received high success.

In 1996, she was seen in the hit movie “Jerry Maguire”. This gave Regina a good amount of publicity she needed to push her career ahead. Following “Jerry Maguire” came her appearances in the movies “Ray” and “Daddy Day Care”.
Regina King lent her voice in the cartoon “The Boondocks”. In 2009, Regina is scheduled to appear in the show “LAPD”.
