Potito Starace was born on July 14, 1981 in Benevento, Italy. He is a tennis player who has his residence in Cervinara, Italy.

Biography and Career :

When he was very young he started loving tennis and playing it. In 2001 he became a professional tennis player. During the years he ahs won one ATP doubles title, but no single titles or Grand Slam tournaments.

Until now (2007) he has earned just from tennis approximately one million dollars. On July 16, 2007 he was ranked on the forty-fourth position in Top 100. It was the highest position he has ever achieved.

Umberto Rianna is his coach. He goes with Potito at all the tournaments and takes care of his training. He entered into the public and specialists’ attention in 2006 when he played as a doubles player at the French Open.

There he and his partner, Alberto Martin, managed to pass the first, second, third and fourth round and play the quarter-finals. Unfortunately for them they stopped there because they lost to Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi.

Before losing they eliminated the team of Simon Aspelin and Todd Perry, who were the eight seeded. He is talented and still has a long way ahead. With hard work and training and if he is a serious player he can win many titles. Let's hope that injuries won't affect him and he could play well.
